John
Bailey: Creator / Producer / Director
John Bailey is by trade a Freelance Promo Producer in the New York City area.
For the past several years John has been working for the Marketing Department
of the Sci Fi Channel, owned and operated by NBC Universal. He writes, produces
and edits promotional spots for various programs broadcast on the channel
including Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, The Dead
Zone, Ghost Hunters, The Outer Limits as well as many others. Prior to his
current long running position with the Sci Fi Channel John has written and
produced for various media outlets including USA Network, Scifi.com, MTV,
VH1, and Nickelodeon.
For a brief time John was involved in the production of Exposure, a weekly
show which aired for 2 seasons (2000 thru 2002) on the Sci Fi Channel. This
inventive, weekly hour long program was designed to showcase the early short
film works of today's famous film makers and television visionaries as well
as the works of up and coming unknowns: the potential writers, producers,
and directors of tomorrow. It was while working on this show that John was
inspired to make a short film of his own.
A huge fan of the sci fi and action genres in general, John chose to blend
his favorite elements from both in order to create a world where his story
could take place. Once a concept was established John sought the help of his
friend, Geo W. Proctor, a writer and artist living in Texas. Together they
worked out the basic idea and Geo developed the first screenplay for Shadow
Kill. John then called upon the talents of several of his friends and coworkers
to bring his vision to life. For over three years they worked together to
shoot and extensively post produce Shadow Kill.
